I am Aleck Karpov, an accomplished coach living in Spokane, WA with over 22 years of experience in athletic development.
Early Beginnings:
Born and raised in Belarus, my journey in track and field began at the age of 12 under the guidance of my father, who was my coach throughout my entire athletic career. This strong family influence helped shape my dedication and success, leading me to the youth and adult national teams of Belarus. I achieved multiple victories and represented my country in various international competitions.
Educational and Professional Journey:
I graduated from the High School of Olympic Reserve and later earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education, focusing on special training for professionals. My academic path continued at my alma mater, where I served as a head coach of the track and field team and senior teacher. I taught various sports, including soccer, and specialized in physiotherapy and methodics of special training. I also authored a textbook for university use.
Coaching and Athletic Expertise:
Parallel to my academic career, I worked as a conditioning coach for a professional soccer club, bringing my expertise to help athletes achieve peak performance. Over the years, I’ve also coached marathon runners and endurance athletes, expanding my knowledge across different sports disciplines.
Passion for Well-Being:
I am deeply committed to maintaining my own fitness and well-being, as well as that of my family and friends. This passion for holistic wellness is a core aspect of my coaching philosophy and professional practice.
Transition to the US:
In 2014, I moved to the United States, where my focus shifted towards youth soccer, inspired by my son’s involvement in Spokane’s soccer clubs over the past decade. I have been coaching him throughout these years, and he is now on the path to a professional career.
Soccer Refereeing:
In the United States, I also work as a soccer referee, officiating youth, college, and adult matches. This experience further enhances my coaching expertise and provides a comprehensive understanding of the game from multiple perspectives.
Holistic Coaching Philosophy:
My approach blends European and American methodologies, emphasizing balanced development. I focus on technical skills, conditioning, mental preparation, and injury prevention, ensuring that athletes—youth or adult, from any sport—receive personalized and effective training.
